This is an overview of the words spoken at the Baby Dedication ceremony...

-In a Family-

A father is to reflect the heart of Jesus.

He is to be willing to lay down his life for his child.
He is to protect this child.
He is to honor his child.
He is to lead and point his family to God.

A mother is to be a reflection of the Holy Spirit. She is generally more naturally gifted with the gifts of the spirit. 

She naturally shows more Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self Control.
She is to love through the steers with Godly conviction, not condemnation.
She is to comfort those she loves.
She is to call her family to love, honor, and reflect Jesus to all those around her.
She is to teach her children to be loving and compassionate.

In a baby dedication we ask the father the following,

Do you promise to be a reflection of Jesus to _________________?
Will you be faithful to provide for him/her?
Will you be faithful to protect him/her?
Will you be willing to lay down your life for him/her?
Will you promise to love him and never leave him/her?

If so, please answer, "I WILL!"

Ae ask the mother the following,

Do you promise to be a reflection of the Holy Spirit to  _________________?
Will you promise to comfort him/her if he/she is hurt or hurting?
Will you promise to teach him/her to honor and reflect Jesus to all those around him/her, teaching him/her to show compassion and grace to others?

If so, please answer, "I WILL!"
